WELCOME NOTE TO THE STUDENTS
Welcome to the Anatomy Department. You are entering into a very dignified profession. In view of the recent advancement in science, laboratory techniques have advanced beyond imagination. The techniques which were used ten years back and now obsolete. But no matter how much advancement is achieved in new techniques, the basis of all this is the structure and function of the human body. In the Anatomy Department, we will teach you structure of the human body along with some basic techniques used in Anatomy and Histology. This syllabus is a guide to the course in Anatomy and Histology for second year Medical Technology. The Department of Anatomy provides a study program which aims to help students acquire new knowledge and skills essential for the study and practice in medicine. The department also aims to introduce the students to some desirable independent learning habits and attitudes necessary to pursue further training in clinical practice in the College of Medicine and College of Allied Sciences. This course extends over one semester period of fourteen (14) academic weeks with two (2) hours session per week. The total academic hours for the whole course are twenty eight (28). There is one mid-term examination and one final examination at the end of the course.
