INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this introduction is to give both students and Faculty a clear description of the courses, their contents and the sequence of their implementation; it also mentions the level of achievement students are expected to attain. Evaluation methods and grading levels are also described. Mixing of male and female students is not allowed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the result is that the two groups are taught separately by male and female faculty members respectively. The course guide seemingly has a useful place under this situation; it is hoped that it shall help in keeping balance and equilibrium in Teaching/Learning attainments in the heterogeneous groups. Course objectives for different areas of Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Histology and Embryology are given in different sections, the course contents both regarding lectures, practicals and dissection sessions are presented in a sequence in which these are implemented. Tutorial sessions are designed to provide opportunity to the student to actively participate in the teaching/learning activities. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND ORGANIZATION The courses offered to 3rd year students of Anatomy relate to the study of Gross Anatomy of Head and Neck, Embryology of the area, Histology of Internal Ear, Eye Ball, Cerebral and Cerebellar cortices and Neuroanatomy. The aim is that the students acquire relevant information of direct clinical bearing without unnecessary details of pure academic importance. Further, it is desired to foster habits and attitudes of independent learning among the students, hoping that they develop the ability to keep themselves abreast with latest development in the fields of their interest during the subsequent years of professional practice. The third year course is divided into three major modules: 1- Head and Neck, 2- Embryology, related to the region, and Histology of Internal Ear, Eye ball Cerebral and Cerebellar cortices. 3- Neuroanatomy.
