COURSE PORTFOLIO

SECOND YEAR MEDICINE

INTRODUCTION

The study of our Medical School includes three stages:

Stage I:     The Preparatory Stage (First Year).

Stage II:   The Academic (Basic Medical Sciences) stage (Second and Third Years).

Stage IIIThe Clinical Stage (Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Years).

In the following pages, details of teaching of Anatomy in the Stage II are mentioned. Generally speaking the aim of Stage II teaching is to lay down a solid foundation for the subsequent full-time clinical study in stage III of the MBBS program. This foundation will include knowledge, skills and attitudes, particularly attitudes toward the learning process. The curriculum philosophy in stage II is enforcing the development of a mixture of teaching approaches including “Student-directed learning”. By the end of stage II, the students are ready to be much more involved in the control of learning process.

Courses of Stage II:

·         During the Second Year: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Islamic Studies, English Language.

  • During the Third Year: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Pathology.

Department of Anatomy have the honor to introduce this Course Portfolio in the hope that it may be helpful in making the students oriented with the aim, objectives, contents of the courses and also through it they will find the answers of the frequently asked questions.

With best wishes
